Hiplife Grandpapa Reggie Rockstone has given a seal of approval to the upcoming T-Pain live In Ghana concert, set to be held at the Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre, Thursday December 22.
In a clear show of support for the Nappy Boy, Rockstone took to his Twitter page this week, and tweeted that he hardly goes for “these big name concerts”, unless the artiste involved is one that empowers the contemporary music movement, adding that he is already on the list of music lovers who will be at the event.
“I don't go 4 deez big name concerts in gh unless da artist politix iz strait and dey will empower our movement! T PAIN? I am der! Cc @233Connect,” he tweeted. Rockstone’s endorsement comes at a time when thousands of Ghanaian music lovers are looking forward to welcoming the YMCB-signed act, in a concert that is clearly going to be the biggest this holiday season.
T-Pain, who launched his Revolver album this week, would share the stage with some of Ghana’s finest artistes, Sarkodie, VIP, Kwaw Kese, and Buk Bak among a host of others.
With successful albums and multiple chart topping songs to his credit, making him one of the most sought after artistes in the world, T Pain brings a lot on board the December 22 concert.
Some of his popular songs in Ghana includes Buy you a drink, I’m a flirt,Same Girl (remix), Kiss Kiss, and his most recent Best Love Song, which features Chris Brown.

1.Broken hearted and drunk as Koo Fori my friend tells me I can get ma boo back if I do as he says! I was 2 rub a love potion on my face and say these words "TAYDAYNTA" to my girl an she would come back 2 me! I did it and till this day she must think I went off in the head for a while! to make matters worst I began to shout it at her thinking perhaps she couldn't hear me! whilst crying with laughter he told me it was vaseline! 17yrs old I was!
2.Carlos Alberto! My good friend and comrade in dancing who also smoked weed like he was competing with Peter Tosh! at one dance he turned up so high he taught the music had began because some hollered his mane and began to boogie to no music! the DJ taught he was helping out and put the track on and Bro. Carlos danced off the beat from beginning to end! Talk about getting ahead of yourself! LOL!
3. Drunk as Captian Haddock, my uncle killed a whole concert at the Kumasi Sports Stadium just because he was such a huge fan of the artist and believed the artist would know him personally and when he refused to see the him, he told every single or group who would listen how the artiste had had stroke! and a rumor in Kumasi is nothing to play with. People stood outside in their numbers asking to see ALPHA BLONDE before they pay! he refused! the show flopped!.
More of such experiences as told by the Grandpapa himself coming up right here on Africa's most authoritative entertainment blog.
A critical look at our budding industry, as it crawls to the end of the year would reveal a decline in some celebrities fan base and influence and a sharp rise in the case of others. Freelance journalist, blogger and celebrity publicist, Quame Junior rates the top 10 most influential male celebrities in Ghana by a mass public-conducted vote and a critical analysis of the
Starting off from
10. Reggie Rockstone: The Grandpapa of hiplife has made this list because of the release of his Double album, Reggiestration. The splendor with which the album was launched as he marked his forty something birthday brought him right back in to the fame books. He is one of the very few personalities whose fame can never be stripped off them but this year he is definitely in the best of shapes.
9. Chris Attoh: Chris follows up in the ninth position. Even tough the multi-talented media personality has been missing in action for a while, making appearances only when necessary, Chris is still one of Ghana's most celebrated celebrities. With the upcoming release of Sinking Sands and his return to his signature entertainment show Rhythmz he just might climb up the ladder but as it stands he is still a beloved.
8. Jon Germain: His placement in the list actually shocked me, much to my amuzement most people voted for Jon more for his music and less for his presenting (both on radio and TV), I always thaught otherwise. Having scooped nominations for 3 International Awards including the Channel O Music Video Awards, Jon definitely has every legal and natural right to be in this list.
7. Micheal Essien: Hate him or love him, his fame and influence would wax stronger, but for his inablity to play for the Black Stars at the just ended World Cup which took place in South Africa, Micheal would have been far up the ladder. His is international recognition but as it stands now, the 7th position is where most sports and entertainment enthusiasts believe he should be and I seem to agree with them.
6.Majid Michel: As I set out to do my survey, he was one of my potential number 1's but it proved otherwise. Call him Al Pacino, call him the player, call him any of the characters he makes so real and sometimes a little surreal, whatever it is he is one of the most cherished sons of Ghana and Africa as a whole, so the next time you are thinking of some famous person to say something against, make sure Majid is out of the list or else Ghanaians would deal with you with iron fists.
5. John Dumelo: What is more to be said, he follows in the step of his compaatriot. Theirs is to make you believe and he seems to be doing just that to the satisfaction of all those that matter so here he is.
4. Sarkodie: With his Rappaholic album still in the works and a few mixtapes running up and about, Sarkodie is still one of the top 5 most influential celebrities in Ghana. If you have doubts, check out the nominees of the MTV Africa Music Awards.
3. Dede Ayew: South Africa did the magic for him. After South Africa he ceased to ride on the fame of his legend father and became a name on his own. Maybe the few brand endorsements he got should be his prove.
2. Asem: He was silent for a while, allowing the 2 singles of his upcoming album "No more Kpayor" and "Suliiya" do the magic, but in the past few weeks his name has hijacked the industry unawares. With his "2010 Fylla", Asem definitely deserves the second spot and a third of the people contacted for the survey agree with me.
1. Asamoah Gyan: At number one is the man who is known as Asamoan Gyan on field and Baby Jet in music. Let the song speak for itself.
His name is gradually creeping into our households, as his face and name is matched to the funny character he played in the Vodafone 3030 commercial. The advert has ended but his claim to fame and his music side has just taken off.
Fritz is Ghana’s budding music sensation, having won the Voice factory in 2009 and subsequently dropping 3 singles off his upcoming album. Quame Junior a few weeks ago sourced out information that the “Me do Wo” star shot the video of his debut single “Me do
Wo” which features Guru and produced by Kaywa.
The video is under the directing tutelage of Take 2 Multimedia, who have already undertaken rather impressive projects working with the likes of Reggie Rockstone, D Black to name a few. The video is expected to be one of the most refreshing videos according to close sources of the artist and eye witnesses at the video shoot.
Well I have finally seen the video and can't wait for you to see it. It premieres on 4syte TV this Saturday and this time the Vodafone star would hit your screens not as an actor but as a fine art of music in its purest form. As and when it happens you would know but he promises in an off the books chat that he is in to stay. My review of the video comes soon.
