A video found on Youtube, the internet video broadcast site, has Atlantis FM radio drive presenter, Merqury, going in on Nana Ama McBrown in an attempt to rape her. Source of the video is unknown, currently, but experts say it might have been culled from a music video or a movie. Efforts to contact Merqury over the weekend have been futile.The clip spots Merqury, virtually tipsy, laughing as Nana Ama screams, advancing towards her in a room believed to be a Hotel room. It depicts Merqury in a frenzy mood with a friend looking on and laughing uncontrollably as well.
Merqury, known as the best Hypeman in Ghana, made an appearance with Mz Trinitiof Jamaica, as a Hypeman, at the State of The Republic concert in Ghana sharing the same stage with Fat Joe and Omarion. He was host of Choice FM flagship Drive Time Show from 2009 to the first quarter of 2010 and is currently host of the Atlantis 87.9fm Evening Drive which airs from 3 to 6pm on weekdays.
Industry people say there hasn’t been any intimate relationship between McBrown and the Hypeman but “they have been spotted together before; I don’t remember when but Merq has mentioned her before”, recounts Dj Mensa.
Efforts are being made to contact Nana Ama, a prominent figure in the Ghana film industry, to get her side of the story.
