Celebrated Ghanaian singer Rebecca Acheampong, popularly known as Becca, has said she does not want any male to attend her December 23 ‘Girl Talk Live Concert’ slated for the National Theater in Accra.
She explained that the concert was strictly for females and that no guys, boyfriends or men would be allowed into the hall on the day, unless the person disguised himself as a female to outwit security at the entrance.
Not even her manager, Kiki Banson, would be allowed into the hall and only God knows what would happen between Becca and the all-female audience. “It is an all girls night out on a large scale and this is the first of its kind in this country. It would be a heart to heart, soul to soul interactive performance between Becca and her audience.
There are some things that are best communicated among women that a man would not get the full meaning and feeling,” Becca’s manager told NEWS-ONE. There are however reports that broadcast journalist and event organizer, Kofi Otchere Darko (KOD), is organizing a number of male celebrities to storm the concert, dressed as women, just to see if they would be subjected to a body search.
KOD is said to be sending BB messages to his colleague male celebrities, lobbying their support for his agenda. Tickets for the event are going for GH¢50, and they are fast selling at Silbervird, Koala, Peace FM and YFM.
CEO of EKB Records,Kiki Banson has stated that afro-pop songstress, Becca is all fired up and poised to showcase the delectable stuff she is made of, to her growing legion of followers across the African continent, in her homecoming show in Kumasi on December 24, this year.Kiki, in a telephone conversation with event publicist and GhanaMusic.co.uk blogger, Kwabena Agyeman-Kobia said the nation’s best female musician was really looking forward to the Kumasi show, which will officially be her first ever performance
on Asante soil, the roots of her origin. He further stated that her emotional attachment to the December concert, had made them postpone an earlier scheduled South African appointment . Rebecca Acheampong popularly known as Becca,a classic crooner beyond comparison, is slated to perform with two other top-notch musicians,KwabenaKwabena and the ‘Azonto King’ Sarkodie in Kumasi in an urban class event that has witnessed an unprecedented media buzz,’The 24th Nite Concert’, organized by Kumasi’s premier event management group,Homeproud Entertainment.
Female singers all over the world have championed or advocated for feminism directly or indirectly through their music. Great singers like Madonna, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Mary J Blige, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé, Rihanna and even in Africa, Mariam Makeba, Brenda Fase and our very own Akosua Agyapong, have several songs which glorify women and how powerful they are. Ghanaian Afro Pop singer Becca is one female Ghanaian artiste known for projecting the female gender
in her songs. Her first and biggest hit song “You Lied to Me” which featured Kwabena Kwabena and her latest hit single “African Woman” tells it all. Becca has always stood for feminism, but Peacefmonline.com can authoritatively confirm that the “Daa ke daa” hit maker has taken the whole women empowerment thing to the level of ‘discriminating’ against her male fans and well-wishers. Peacefmonline.com investigations reveal that Becca is planning an all-female concert this Christmas for solely
her female audience. According to sources, unlike the “Red Lipstick All Female Concert” which allowed both men and women to attend the show, Becca’s event forbids the presence of any man, be it a family member, fan or friend at the auditorium. IT’S AN ALL-FEMALE AFFAIR. Of course it has raised several eye brows with some of her male fans quite outrage (and particularly so, since they support her music by buying her CDs), when details of the upcoming concert leaked. Her male
followers feel they equally deserve the chance of watching her perform on stage. No wonder some members of the male gender are threatening to buy tickets and storm the venue on that day to watch her perform, ‘ban’ or ‘no ban’. According to deep throat sources, the said show is Becca’s own event being put together by her management, EKB Records, with support from other female artistes. The event is dubbed “The Becca Girl Talk Live Concert” and it is expected to come off at the National Theatre on Friday, December 23, 2011,. “No Guys, No Boyfriends, No Men….This Is The Ultimate Girls Night Out”, is the programme’s catch-phrase, and
information gleaned by Peacefmonline.com indicates that the show will feature an all-female Production crew including a female Events Director, Producer, female MCs among others. In an interview with Peacefmonline.com, the sultry singer confirm the event but strongly refuted the accusation that she is discriminating against the opposite sex. Whiles lauding the role of men in her career and the support they have given her, Becca, also stressed that she could not have made it without women. “We need to unite in thought and in spirit as women. I am just keeping the sisterhood alive and celebrating ourselves because it is not easy to be a woman
in this part of the world. We will be sharing our strength whiles we have fun,” Becca said. Asked if she really believed over 1500 women will be ready to purchase tickets to fill the National Theatre on the said night without the presence of their male ‘chaperons’, the sensational singer replied, “just wait and see how we women do our things. I know the place (National Theatre) will be jam packed with beautiful ladies.” When Peacefmonline.com prodded for more details about the upcoming event, Becca simply remained tight-lipped saying more information on the event can be sourced from the various commercials being aired on Radio, Television and the other media outlets. She however added that detailed information about the event will be provided at a press conference scheduled to take place soon.
“The only thing I can say is that there will lots of Christmas gifts for everybody who will be present on the night,” Becca stated. Meanwhile, Peacefmonline.com investigations reveal that Becca intends inviting great female musicians, female politicians, businesswomen, female Doctors, female Lawyers, among others from Ghana, Africa and other parts of the world to grace the occasion, which sources say will be a 2-hour non-stop unforgettable experience.
Becca won two awards at the just ended 4Syte TV Music Video Awards including the ultimate “Best Overall Music Video” award the “Best Female Music Video” awards. With just an album to her credit, Becca has won for herself several awards including: Ghana Music Awards “Album of the Year” for two consecutive times in 2009 and 2010, “Record of the Year” 2009 and 2010 and ‘Best Female Vocal Performance’. Becca also won the ‘Best African Prospect’ at 2010 Kora All Africa Music Awards in Burkina Faso. Source:

Even though Becca, real name Rebecca Acheampong, was the monarch of all that she surveyed by scooping the ultimate award at the just ended 3rd Edition of the 4Syte Music Video Awards, held at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, November 19, 2011, the “Daa ke daa” hit maker went home very worried.
Her anxiety was borne out of the fact that moments after receiving the award for “Best Overall Music Video” and after giving her acceptance speech, the sultry singer returned to her seat only to realize that her hand bag had been stolen.
As a matter of course, Becca became very restless and with the help of her Manager, Kiki Banson, went asking round if anybody had chanced upon her hand bag. But unfortunately that was not to be. The MCs had already signed off by saying their goodbyes, and most patrons were already streaming out of the auditorium.
A shell-shocked Becca, confirmed this to Peacefmonline.com’s Entertainment Reporter, Eugene Osafo-Nkansah when he bumped into her, looking all forlorn despite winning the overall best award.
“Someone has taken my bag…It was right here. I am surprise I don’t even know what to say…i have my car keys, some amount of money, some important personal documents (ID and call cards)…but my biggest worry is how to get my car keys back,” she said.
Strangely, and in the twinkle of an eye, whiles good Samaritans went searching for the bag, onlookers were bemused to see Becca’s missing bag resting on her seat once again.
CEO of EKB Records Kiki Banson admiring Becca award as Becca looks on How it got there still remains a mystery. But the smile and relief on Becca’s face was short-lived when she realized that though her car keys and other valuables were intact, her money (unspecified) was gone.
Asked how much money was in the bag, the renowned songstress was not forthcoming with a figure, but only stressed that the most important thing was that she got her car keys back.
Becca was not the only celebrity to suffer this fate, as several other stars and some members of the general public also lost their mobile phones, hand bags, designer eyeglasses (shades), partly because of over-crowdedness and poor security arrangement especially at the VIP section, where all the music stars and other dignitaries were seated.
Becca won two awards on the night; aside taking home the“Overall Best Music Video for 2011”, she also won the “Best Female Video” for her song “African Woman”. She expressed her profound thanks to the Almighty God and also to her “Special 3 Fs” - Fans, Family and Friends – for the honour done her.
Special thanks was reserved for her manager Kiki Banson, CEO of EKB Records, for discovering her, grooming her and for the faith he has shown in her till date resulting in who she is now.
The issue of who exactly is dating charming singer Rebecca Acheampong, popularly known as Becca, has become topical, with sources close to her mentioning actor John Dumelo.
Both stars being spotted together at a couple of places in recent times and the chemistry that was played out between them during Becca’s performance at the Red Lipsticks concert that saw them kissing have ignited the speculations.
The two stars have attempted to deny that there is something going on between them but the fact is that walls have ears and sources say they have been seeing each other since their secondary school days.
“They were always at the Achimota garden, and after classes, they would walk together from the West Side of campus to the East Side. We never saw them doing anything like sex or kissing but one can tell the difference between friends and lovers,” a mate of John Dumelo said.
He revealed that when Becca first bought her Honda Element, she was always seen in the car with Dumelo and that the actor recently consulted Becca before buying his talk-of-the town Toyota Tundra.
Kiki Banson
Interestingly, Becca has over the years refused to speak publicly about her love life. She insisted she was not single yet would not tell who she was dating, raising the curiosity to the zenith level. She is on record to have said that she was a very private person and would not want to mention the name of her lover.
There was a time she was rumuored to be dating her manager, Kiki Banson, but this turned out to be untrue as Kiki proved that he was and still is a married man. NEWS-ONE has been able to trace who exactly Kiki’s wife is and would soon come out with her exclusive photos and details.
John Dumelo
After wowing audience at the Dome of the International Conference Center with the sexy kiss he gave Becca during her performance, he is apparently yielding to pressure from paparazzi to confirm whether or not he is dating the star musician.
All he was able to say was that he had a fiancée whose name he would not mention, stressing that he was not dating Becca though he liked her a lot and were very ‘good’ friends.
Before this incident, John Dumelo had remained tight-lipped over his relationship status.

We are 10 months down the line and I believe it long a time enough to analyze the influences of our female celebrities, Celebrity publicist, freelance journalist and Radio and TV presenter, Quame Junior takes you through the journey. Meet 2010's top most influential females celebrities here in Ghana, starting off from:
10. Jeremie: Call her Ghana's most sought after voice and you wouldn't be far from right. With her stunt on 4syte TV, her alledgedly "vulgar" spot on YFM and her voice on almost every voice over worth the time, she is definitely one of the forces to reckon with. Her recent relationship fiasco should give you a clue.
9. Yvonne Nelson: There are certain things you can take from people but there are some, you can never touch, no matter how much you try. Yvonne's fame is one of those things. Despite her unrelenting war with the media, Yvonne is still one of Ghana's most beloved daugthers.
8. Efyah: She is in a class of her own, it is like she lives in clouds. One of the very few who do music for the love of it. Her recent appearances at shows such as the Decibles and her outstanding and perculiar personality wherever she stands is what brings her name to the list.
7. Becca: She has not been as active as she was last year but Becca is definitely a very big force to reckon with. She stands as Ghana's answer to Makeba....she is soul and music personified. If you don't believe me, ask Kiki how much it costs to get Becca on stage. Her worth is her influence.
6. Nadia Buari: Not much can be said of the year in question but some names are simply indispensable and Nadia is one such names.
5. Deloris Frimpong (DELAY): Her rather controversial ability to attract and maintain the listening crowd on radio is what has made her a household name for the past 5 years. 2010 has been no different, if you doubt, tune into her program and see if you can skip the frequency.
4. Jackie Appiah: She is undoubtedly the biggest actress in Africa by par. She is simply the deal. She froze the streets of Sierra Leone and trust me, that is not one of the places where celebrities are particularly appreciated.
3. Eazzy: I did that particular story "THE RISE, FALL AND RISE OF EAZZY", her falling on stage was not a gimmick, it was real but nevertheless she is the hottest female sensation in Ghana as it stands. Please re visit all the events you have decided to attend this yelitude season, if her name is not on then probably it is not a major show.
2.Jocelyn Dumas: She is the one on "THE ONE" show and that is to a large extent her claim to fame. From "Rhythmz", it couldn't get much better than this.
1. Shirley Frimpong Manso: I really don't know how to profile or justify her inclusing in the list, but maybe you should pay a visit to her office one of these, that is if you get the chance to. She has just given us the perfect christmas gift, it is 6 Hours to Christmas.
